Pinnacle College Waterfall crowns very first Mr and Miss Waterfall
Making history with its inaugural Mr & Miss Waterfall pageant, Pinnacle College Waterfall showcased students' talents, confidence, and community support.
On May 22, Pinnacle College Waterfall crowned the very first Mr and Miss Waterfall in school history, Darius Tinka and Thandeka Zulu, after a lively contest.
Eleven matric students took to the runway, strutting their stuff in an attempt to win the crown. Not only did they brave the world of modelling; each contestant had to impress the judges with a talent item, ranging from some thought-provoking monologues, to exciting dancing and singing.

The students’ journey started two months ago, when they were chosen to participate in the event. “2025 earmarks this young school’s fifth birthday, and we are planning key events that will become part of our school’s culture and heritage,” said Marili Frazão, head of culture at the school.

The aim behind this competition was to provide a platform for students to develop their self-confidence on stage, and although they did not have any formal training for their talent items, they accepted the challenge and delivered.
Pinnacle College Waterfall partnered with ACE Models Waterfall. The team from ACE not only sponsored the main prizes but invested their time to help the students perfect their walks and gain confidence.

ACE Models Waterfall offers a holistic approach, combining modeling, posture correction, confidence-building, and life skills, to empower kids, ages 6–19, and allow them to shine in every aspect of their lives.

The evening ended with the crowning of Morgan James, as most Photogenic, and Baliziwe Mzimba, as Ms Congeniality.

“We have learned so much from this event, and so many opportunities have opened for future events,” said Frazão. “This event would not have been possible without the support from our headmistress, Andrea Dawson, our teachers, our sponsors, and, most importantly, our students and our parents. We look forward to continuing to build on this year’s event, and trust that we will be able to host an even bigger event in 2026, with the support of our key partners.”
