Green energy workforce development project marks successful year

Education Support Forum celebrating a year of green energy success, empowering communities, creating opportunities, and building a sustainable future.

The Education Support Forum in Fourways is proud to announce the successful completion of its first 12 months.

During this time, it has delivered impactful training programmes to 468 individuals, secured 120 permanent job placements, and offered 31 entrepreneurs business development support.

The initiative, launched in March 2024, is designed to equip individuals, particularly youth, women, and underserved communities, with the skills needed to thrive in the growing green energy sector.

The programme offers hands-on, industry-relevant training in areas such as solar installation and energy efficiency, in collaboration with Sasol and The Jobs Fund.

The project manager, Khutso Bapela, said, “We launched this initiative with a vision to prepare our communities for the future of work, one that is green, inclusive, and sustainable.

“After just one year, we’re already seeing the transformative impact it’s having on both individuals and the green economy.”

The programme prioritises inclusivity and economic empowerment, targeting youth and women. The success of the first year lays a solid foundation for scaling up the project in the years to come.
