JW repairs Mulbarton and Riverside roads leaks
Weeks of frustration came to an end as Joburg Water finally repaired two major leaks, one causing potholes on Mulbarton Road and another valve issue on Riverside Road.
Joburg Water has finally repaired two water leaks that have been the source of growing frustration for Lonehill residents.
One of the leaks, on Mulbarton Road, had worsened over time and contributed to dangerous potholes, affecting daily traffic.
The second one on Riverside Road stemmed from a faulty valve that remained unresolved for weeks.
Ward 94 councillor David Foley confirmed that both issues were addressed after several follow-ups and escalations. “The original service calls I logged were incorrectly linked to a different address, which delayed the response. Once the correct information was submitted, the repairs were carried out.”

Foley said he has requested road reinstatements for the damaged sections, which will be scheduled once the road surface has dried.
“These kinds of service delays are frustrating for residents, but I’m glad we’ve now seen action. I thank residents for their patience and will continue pushing for follow-through,” he said.
The repairs mark a small but important victory for the community, which had raised concerns about road damage, water waste, and delayed service delivery.
