Father/child day brings joy to little ones at Rainbow Babies and Kids

Fathers and little ones share laughter, love, and a picnic at Rainbow Babies and Kids’ father/child day.

Laughter and excitement filled the playgrounds of the Bryanston and Douglasdale branches of Rainbow Babies and Kids as fathers joined their children for a morning of play, connection, and joy during the school’s annual father/child day.

The event encouraged dads to take time off from their busy schedules to spend dedicated one-on-one time with their children.

The morning focused on bonding through play, laughter, and shared experiences. From energetic games to creative activities, the day was filled with heartwarming moments that celebrated the unique role fathers play in their children’s lives.

Christine Young, principal of Rainbow Babies and Kids, described the event as meaningful for both children and parents. “It is such a special moment to see a child look up in adoration at their father, and, with pride, show off their pre-school and invite them to play.”

The playgrounds echoed with the sound of little voices calling out, ‘Dad, come and see!’ as children proudly shared their favourite activities, from sandpits and swings to art corners and building blocks.

The morning ended with a relaxed picnic, where dads and their little ones enjoyed snacks and laughter under the trees.

Young believes that play is not only vital for a child’s physical development; it’s essential for their emotional well-being, and when shared with their fathers, these moments become even more powerful.
