Reports from across the great Limpopo River suggest incumbent Robert Mugabe has again bulldozed his way to the Zimbabwean presidency with another questionable victory.
On 2 August, his opponent, Morgan Tsvangarai, had resigned himself to a Mugabe victory, by declaring the election was null and void.
Ahead of the election, the veteran tyrant had sparked ridicule the world over by saying he would only surrender power if he lost.
Mugabe has been accused of cheating and stealing his way to power in the past, and it remains to be seen if the 2013 election was free and fair.
There are also those who believe his opponent Tsvangarai is all talk with no plan, and that voting for him would be a waste of vote.
Nonetheless, Mugabe is the undisputed newsmaker of the week for his return to the throne.
The SABC news channel took to the airwaves on Thursday. Whether the channel remains independent, and keeps up with the standards set by its rivals, remains to be seen.
