Wayne van Wyk, the operations manager took charge immediately and dispatched a security detail to our property. He also organised the emergency paramedic response from the Life Fourways Hospital and called an ambulance.
Patrick, a qualified medic and in charge of security for the Chartwell committee was the first responder on the scene as he had learned about our problem. He rendered first assistance and then handed things over to a very competent paramedic, Etienne van Niekerk, who had arrived in his response vehicle soon after.
In the meantime, Van Wyk of Fidelity had posted a security vehicle at the entrance to Chartwell North Estates to lead the ambulance, which arrived next to our address.
The way, a potentially very serious situation was handled and then resolved by all concerned causes me to hand bouquets to Fidelity Security, Van Wyk in particular and the security personnel, Patrick of the Chartwell committee, Etienne of the Emergency Paramedic Life Fourways Hospital and last not least to the Ambulance Paramedics from NEMS.
