EFC fighters show their mettle

FOURWAYS - A plethora of Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) fighters showed off their fighting skills at an open workout at Ster Kinekor in Fourways Mall.

The workout was in preparation for the EFC live broadcast event which will be held at the cinema, giving ordinary people the chance to watch the strongest and most skilful EFC fighters battle it out in Cape Town.

The open workout hosted a who’s who of names in the Mixed Martial Arts and EFC world, such as heavyweight Elvis Moyo and lightweight Boyd Allen who came to show what fans could expect from the live broadcast.

EFC president, Cairo Howarth said, “It will give people who can’t watch the fights in Cape Town the opportunity to see this incredible viewing experience. It will also help the EFC in reaching a different audience, who will definitely enjoy it.”

The partnership between Ster Kinekor and the EFC began early this year with the first live broadcast event held in March.

Public relations director for the EFC, Kieran Jacobsen said, “Watching the fights on a full high definition screen is the best viewing experience outside of the live events. And the people in the cinema get riled up and it turns into a real spectacle.”

The main event will be held on 5 June at the Ster Kinekor in Fourways Mall with 12 explosive fights, starting at 4.15pm.
