Pupil wins big at National Age Group Championships

FOURWAYS - Talented young diver, Lakin Alberts, has much to celebrate after excelling at the National Age Group Championships at Kings Park in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Grade 5 pupil of Brescia House School Alberts came first in the 3m springboard competition, bagged second place for platform and achieved third place with her diving partner Grace Brammer for synchro.

Alberts also received a trophy for the overall best diver of the competition.

She has been diving since she was eight years old and practises up to six days a week with Italian coach Danilo Cogrossi.

Alberts was one of the youngest girls to compete in the South African Cup last year and has her heart set on competing at the SASCOC Youth Games that will be held in Durban from 7 to 14 April this year, and the National Age Group Championships in the United Kingdom in May next year.
