Fourways High School wins B league inter-high swimming final
FOURWAYS - The Fourways High School's swimming team came out victorious after competing against other schools in the B league inter-high swimming final at Ellis Park swimming pool on 1 March.
The school came out on top in four of the 10 relays and came second in four of them – which made it possible for the school to achieve their dream of winning the B league.
“The swimmers mentally prepared themselves for the challenge that lay ahead. The hard work was done, the many hours in the pool swum and each gala used as an opportunity to get the team that much closer to what would be a historic victory,” David Joshua, the school’s sports co-ordinator said.
“Going into the relays at 40 points clear at the top, it was almost certain that victory was ours.
“We now look forward to the planning and development that will take place in order to compete among the top of the co-ed schools’ swimming teams. This achievement means a lot for us as a school. For as long as I have been at Fourways High, I have always believed in the value of a whole school event being the highest priority among all the sports that we offer.”
The school thanked Clay and Richard Little for the many hours they have put into the school’s swimming team.
