These girls are on point

Nurturing creativity and artistic development is what Enpointe Studio is all about.

“We as a dance studio aim to let our students be all-around dancers. So they learn almost all the genres we have to offer, that way, when they go to auditions they can catch on to the instructor’s style or feel,” the dance studio’s director, Candace Osbourn said.

Located at Langhams Executive Conferencing in Beverley, the dance studio opened its doors in May last year and they offer ballet, modern dance, acrobatics, tap dancing, musical theatre, contemporary, hip-hop and various adult classes.

In April, six of their dancers competed at the World of Dance competition and on 5 June, students competed in World Lyrical Dance Federation and are in preparation for Dance Sar in September. “In June Claire Fisher competed in the World Lyrical Dance Federation in Pretoria and qualified to represent South Africa at the World Lyrical Dance Championship 2019 in England at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre.”

Osbourn added that Phoebe Poggiali-Trapani also competed and qualified to represent South Africa in the same competition.

“I used to be a professional dancer, I worked overseas and worked with international choreographers and studied at the Waterfront Theatre School where I qualified as an ISTD teacher. After that I moved to Johannesburg and competed in the corporate dance world and worked around various casinos in the area,” Osbourn said.

She added that she then went overseas to work for Dick Foster’s production and pursued her international career. “After a while, I felt that I wanted to settle down and have a family of my own, which I did, and when my son was four I then decided to get back to the world of dance but in a different way, by opening a dance studio.”

She highlighted that they offer the ultimate dance or fitness experience blending fun, ease and comfort with quality instruction in the most beautiful dance studios.

“Our studio helps build confidence in our dancers as we get good feedback from the parents who say that their children have gained more confidence since joining the studio,” she said.
