Young golfers bring their best swings to this year’s Dainfern College Prep Annual Golf Challenge

DAINFERN– Head of high school sport at Dainfern College said the aim of the competition was to get the best prep school golf players together and play against one another.

Dainfern College golf players shone in this year’s Dainfern College Prep annual Golf Challenge at Dainfern Golf Estate on March 3.

Grade 6 learner Ryan Osborne placed first with a score of 102 counted in. Ryan and Sebastian Smith also placed first in the non-handicap team section with a score of 92. In the boys’ handicap section Grade 6 learner Blake Smith was placed first with a score of 66 and placed third in the handicap team section with his partner Ryder Robinson with a score of 62.

Head of high school sport at the school Kevin Bennett said, “A huge congratulations goes out to all the players who competed in the golf challenge. This is an annual golf day challenge for prep school learners that didn’t take place in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”

He said this year’s event attracted players from Heron Bridge College, Laerskool Balfour, St Stithians College and Curro Aurora Independent School.
