Edson Machavane claims the EFC Flyweight championship title

The packed crowd witnessed jaw-dropping performances, with three explosive knockouts and newcomers making their mark against seasoned veterans.

Terrence Balelo entered the hexagon at the World Sports Betting Arena in Paulshof on November 14 confident of winning his battle against Edson Machavane who boasts an impressive record.

However, in his first fight against Machavane, things did not go Balelo’s way with Machavane emerging victorious in a split decision, crowning him the new EFC Flyweight Champion.
Machavane commended Balelo saying he gave him a tough time and did not give up easily.

“So, he brought out the dog in me,” he said. “He is such a good guy and I hope we will be in the hexagon again in the future.

“Balelo is a good counterfighter. So, I had to spend my time in the gym with my different coaches who took me through camps. I would like to dedicate this victory to my late mother. I wished she was here to watch me fight. It has always been my dream. But I am so grateful for the support that I got from my friends, family, and fans.”
The EFC matchmaker at the post-event press conference offered Balelo a rematch.

Meanwhile, the co-main event saw the EFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship on the line, where Juliet Chukwu emerged as the new champion in a fight that again, went the full five rounds. Despite the relentless pressure from Chukwu’s opponent Dayne ‘Quiet Storm’ van Wyk, Chukwu kept her composure throughout, maintaining a cool and determined stance.
