EFC fighters eye what they want for the future

With his eyes on the UFC and the global stage, Terence 'Black Panther' Balelo is focused on moving forward, while talented prospect Tebatso 'Glory of Torture' Molele pushes hard for his shot at the flyweight belt in the EFC.

At EFC 123, the South African flyweight division once again proved why it’s one of the most exciting in the country.

Terence ‘Black Panther’ Balelo, fresh from a dominant win over Marcio Oliviera, reminded everyone why he remains a top contender. But for Balelo, reclaiming the belt isn’t the end goal, he’s got his sights set on much bigger things.

“My goal is to get to the UFC,” he said, confidently, during an interview. “I’ve achieved a lot here in EFC, because I have held belts in two divisions, but now I want to challenge myself against the best in the world. A few more wins, and I believe I’ll be there.”

Balelo’s journey has been one of relentless determination and resilience. “Since I signed with EFC, I always knew I was destined for greatness. My whole career has been about pushing myself towards the global stage. I’m not interested in just reclaiming the belt, I want to be fighting the top fighters. I stay in the gym, constantly sharpening my skills, and I believe the next big step is just around the corner.”

He also addressed the ongoing chatter about who should get the next shot at the flyweight belt. “If [Tebatso ‘Glory of Torture’] Molele gets the opportunity, I’ll be happy for him,” said Balelo. “But honestly, I see myself as the biggest fight in the division, the one fans want to see, the one that makes sense. I’ve always been a natural finisher, and I’ll keep putting on exciting performances. The division’s on fire right now, but I’ve got my eyes firmly on a bigger prize… The UFC.”

Meanwhile, Molele’s recent display of dominance has firmly put him in the title conversation.

“It really means a lot to see the progress I’ve made. I’m focused on learning from my mistakes and improving every day. I truly believe I’ve got what it takes to become the champion, and I’m calling for my shot now. My loss to Willie Van Rooyen still motivates me. It pushes me to work even harder. I’m ready to face the best, and I believe I belong at the top.”

Molele’s confidence is well-founded. “My fighting style is undeniably dangerous,” he said. “I work with top trainers, constantly sharpening my skills, and I know I can beat anyone in the division, including Balelo, if that’s what it takes. I want to be the champion, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get there.”
