EFC 126 delivers an exciting night of action and unforgettable moments

Johannesburg’s EFC 126 event was a night full of thrills, featuring incredible finishes and showcasing some of Africa’s top MMA talent. Fans were treated to a night of intense battles and standout performances from start to finish.

EFC 126 was a night that highlighted the talent and hard work of fighters across Africa, with each bout bringing something special to the cage. The event at the WSB EFC Arena in Johannesburg saw fighters push themselves to the limit, delivering moments of skill, determination, and excitement that had the crowd on their feet.

The main highlight was the performance of reigning Flyweight Champion Willie van Rooyen, who successfully defended his title with a first-round submission over Moldovan challenger Anatolie Gafin. Van Rooyen’s speed and power were on full display as he locked in a rear-naked choke at just over two minutes into the fight, reaffirming his position as one of the top fighters in Africa.

The night was packed with memorable moments. Ntando Zondi made a quick statement with a second-round TKO over Kgaugelo Moitshela, finishing the fight in just 51 seconds. Gift Walker also impressed with a second-round submission, forcing Sibusiso Sovendle to tap out at 1:45. Ziko Makengele’s knockout of Wallace Okosso in the first round at 3:14 was another highlight, as was Zhane Tannous’s dramatic knockout just 14 seconds into his fight against Stefan Booysen.

The action didn’t stop there. Moses Mokhari’s first-round rear-naked choke of Lucky Magekha, Jesse Schaper’s armbar finish over Tshepo Majuba, and Roberto Miyaba’s three-round decision victory over Rudolf Sekhukhune all kept fans engaged. Vuyo Jula’s quick submission against Siyanda Vilakazi and Veja Hinda’s hard-fought decision win over Ash Zola added to the night’s excitement.

The event also recognised standout performances, with Mokhari and Magekha earning Fight of the Night, and Tannous, Walker, and Van Rooyen receiving Performance Bonuses for their excellent displays.

Looking ahead, fans are already excited for EFC 127 on 11 September, which will feature a highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Elvis Moyo and ‘HHH’ Djikasa. Both fighters are eager to leave their mark and add another chapter to their rivalry.
