You heard right. Your favourite annual street dance competition, Masters of Rhythm: Reincarnation, is back by popular demand.
The auditions will take place on 26 August at Cantare at Montecasino where some of South Africa’s finest dancers are set to compete for the coveted titles.
The finals will take place on 27 August under the categories All Styles, Popping, B-Boy, Duos and Crews. As usual, all other elements of hip-hop, poetry, master of ceremonies, DJ-ing and graffiti will be catered for at the same venue. More than 1 000 fans and first-time spectators are expected to fill the Cantare in the spirit of celebrating Masters of Rhythm’s 11-year anniversary. In the forefront is founding director, Mernoly Simba, who expressed his excitement at bringing the competition back for the second year in a row.

It goes without saying that the event has an exciting history of hosting one of the hippest and happening youth events in South Africa, and it’s a reputation they’re working hard on rebuilding.
To add to the excitement, there will be a number of artists who will be headlining acts. Hip-hop artist Laryngitis will be the MC for the night.
