1. From being abused and nearly drowned, Spirit the dog finds happiness

Not all stories have a happy ending – but this one does. From abused, neglected and nearly drowned, Spirit the dog has found a way to soar since being adopted by Lexi Austen of the All Hearts Foundation South Africa. Read the full story here:

2. Full tummies for Midrand SPCA animals

The dogs and cats of the Midrand SPCA had a good dinner to look forward to thanks to donations from the Kid Vantage Academy in Dainfern Golf Estate. Read the full story here:

3. Visually impaired happy to receive guide dogs

It was an overwhelming and emotional graduation ceremony at Paulshof-based South Africa Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind. Clients were rewarded with their required assistance dogs at the event, puppy raisers were honoured for raising the assistance dogs, while sponsors of the organisation were also honoured. 4. Protect the pangolins

After an awful ordeal, Mokolo the pangolin and her unborn baby are being cared for by the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital in Fourways. Read the full story here:

5. A doggy day for Mandela

There were tails wagging, sloppy kisses given, money donated and food stockpiled on 13 July as dogs in need received some special attention in honour of Nelson Mandela Day. Read the full story here:
