Local artist scoops fifth place at Amaqhawentaba Music Awards song of the year competition

Dube said she was hoping that this award will help boost her confidence in her craft.

Local gospel artist, Khenile Dubes has thanked fans of her music and members of the public for voting for her song in the Amaqhawentaba Music Awards song of the year competition.

The hit track Reaboka Morena from her EP (Extended Play) was released in November last year. The song scooped fifth place out of 52 songs that were nominated to usher listeners of a Tembisa-based online radio station into 2023.

“I am very humbled with the response that my song received from members of the public and music lovers. I never thought that my song could be among the most favourite songs. I only released my six track EP in November, two months down the line the song gets more than 6000 votes from people who listened to it.”

Dube said she was hoping that this award will help boost her confidence in her craft. “I am quite new in the music industry. This was my first work to be out there in public. I am really thankful to those who supported my song and spent their money to vote for my song.” Dube said.
