Two men nabbed and eight on the run following armed robbery

Primrose police apprehend two men allegedly involved in Activia Road robbery.

Two men, aged 29 and 36 years old, respectively, were recently arrested by the Primrose police.

The men were charged with armed robbery after they were allegedly involved in an armed robbery in Activia Road, in Activia Park, Primrose.

The incident was reported to the Primrose police by a local company’s security guard.

“He explained to officers that he had reported for evening duty as normal.

“A few hours into his shift he claimed that he heard a noise at the gate and went to investigate,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The complainant alleged that while at the gate he was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with firearm.

“The accused allegedly pointed the firearm at the security guard and ordered him to lie down.

“While he on the ground eight other men appeared and tied him up with a rope,” said Maome.

The suspects allegedly took his cellphone and entered the company but did not take anything.

Police followed several leads and were able to arrest two of the 10 suspects.

“The men appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their case was postponed for a bail application,” Maome said.

Officers continue to hunt for the remaining suspects.
