Jolene soars into the finals of Miss High School SA

Albemarle model Jolene Stander is excited to be a finalist in Miss High School SA.

Gorgeous 16-year-old Albemarle resident Jolene Stander is holding the city’s name up high.

She has been chosen as a finalist in the Miss High School SA competition.

The GCN told Jolene’s story when she was named as a semi-finalist (GCN, September 28) and she asked the community to help her become a finalist.

“I was excited and surprised when I got the news that I had been chosen as a finalist,” Jolene said.

“I am so privileged to be part of the competition which will enable me to not only use the talent given to me but to use this platform to serve the community and be a role model to other young women on their way to fulfilling their dreams.”

Jolene will now compete against 14 other finalists in the grand finale of the competition on December 1 at Rusty Hook Guest House.

So far Jolene has enjoyed the competition as it has given her an enormous opportunity to further the career that she has chosen.

“I am step by step moving in the right direction to make my dreams come true,” she said.

Her advice to young women is to work hard.

“Hard work pays off.

“There will be disappointments on the way but stay true and believe in yourself – remain positive.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do, flows from it,” she said.
