Woman allegedly stabbed during argument

Primrose police apprehended a woman on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

While walking in the Makause informal settlement last Sunday, a woman reportedly saw a child in a nearby yard.

She greeted the child and as she was walking away allegedly heard a woman saying she was not allowed to talk to people in her yard.

“The complaint allegedly confronted the woman and they began to argue,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“During the argument, the accused allegedly stabbed the complainant in the left hand with a knife.”

Using the description given by the victim when she opened a case at the Primrose Police Station, police were able to trace and arrest the 38-year-old suspect.

She was arrested on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where her case was postponed for plea and trial.
