EMPD trace hijacked vehicle, nab one

Woman nabbed after hijacked vehicle recovered.

A combined effort between the EMPD Loss Control and Investigations Unit and Sebenza SAPS members led to the recovery of a hijacked white Toyota Hilux.

The vehicle was hijacked in Elsburg on June 11 and located at 5pm in a yard in Cresslawn, Kempton Park, on June 12.

Law enforcers found the vehicle in the process of being stripped and its parts were being transferred to another same model vehicle found at the Beech Road premises.

A woman, the owner of the house where the hijacked vehicle was found, was arrested.

The recovered vehicle was taken to Van Rhyn Deep Pound in Benoni.

The woman was charged at the Sebenza Police Station on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and was expected to appear in the Edenvale Magistrates Court on June 15.
