WATCH: Jub Jub appears in Germiston court over firearm charges as case postponed to August
The matter involving television personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has been postponed to allow further police investigations, with his legal team questioning the strength of the state’s case.
Television personality Molemo Maarohanye, known as Jub Jub, appeared briefly in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on charges linked to the alleged discharge of a firearm in a public place.
The case was postponed to August 24 to allow for further police investigations.
Maarohanye initially faced three charges, including the unlawful discharge of a firearm in a public area, kidnapping, and defeating the ends of justice.

His legal representative, Advocate Motsemme, told media outside court that the defence believes the state’s case is weak, adding that the charges have shifted since the matter was first reported.
He further claimed that police acted prematurely in arresting Maarohanye before all facts had been properly established.
“We are hoping that by the end of this matter all charges will be dropped and that if my client goes to trial, he will be acquitted,” Motsemme said.
The case will return to the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on August 24.
