The top 10 reasons you should go big this Casual Day.

Remember, remember, Friday, September 6, is Casual Day.

Put a smile on the faces of your colleagues and, more important, the Casual Day beneficiaries by wearing your sticker and going big on the day.

Whether you decide to wear big hair, big glasses, a big tie, big shoes, or to just go big on the number of stickers you purchase and wear, anything goes as long as it’s big.

Ten reasons to support Casual Day:

1. Casual Day gives communities the chance to come together to raise funds for organisations in your area that cater to people with disabilities.

2. It gives you the opportunity to be creative and organise a fun event at your office that could very well boost morale and contribute to team building.

3. You can step out in this year’s theme: “Go Big”. So let your imagination run wild and see just how big you can go.

4. Casual Day supports the right of people with disabilities, their rights to an education, housing, training, accessibility and employment … in other words, full inclusion into society.

5. It is fun and entertaining,while contributing to society.

6. It is easy and convenient to participate,as all promotional material is supplied free-of-charge.

7. Casual Day allows you to make a big difference in the world by getting the community and your office colleagues to do a small thing – wear the official Casual Day sticker.

8. You can rest assured that funds raised from sticker donations provide material relief to people with disabilities.

9. Casual Day demonstrates community spirit and unity in action.

10. R10 is a small donation to make, but a donation that really makes a difference.

Casual Day has been helping to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities for the past 18 years.

The project is led by the National Council of Persons with Physical Disabilities and is run in partnership with its national beneficiaries, SA National Council for the Blind, Disabled People South Africa (DPSA), SA Federation for Mental Health, Deaf Federation of SA (DeafSA) and Epilepsy SA.

Casual day has invited eight new organisations to join its beneficiary family: Autism South Africa (ASA), Down Syndrome South Africa, the National Association for Persons with Cerebral Palsy (NAPCP), the South African National Deaf Association (SANDA), the National Institute for the Deaf (NID), QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA), Alzheimer’s South Africa and the South African Disability Alliance (SADA).
