South Africa’s Thabiso ‘The Rock’ Mchunu (centre) was in top form knocking out Latvia’s Ricards Bolotniks in the sixth round of their international cruiserweight clash on the undercard of the Bombs Away Box and Dine tournament. Mchunu is pictured here ringside after his victory with Emperors Palace’s complex operations executive, Clive Tavener (left) and Bolotniks, who will now take on Thomas ‘Tommy Gun’ Oosthuizen, in the latter’s comeback to boxing fight, for the ABU cruiserweight title at Emperors Palace.
While IBO Cruiserweight world champion Kevin Lerena wasn’t in action at the event, he was in the audience watching his stablemates from Smith’s Gym, Thulani Mbenge, Rowan Campbell and Thabiso Mchunu notch up impressive victories on the night. The world champ also took time out to meet fellow boxing enthusiasts and pose for photographs between bouts.
