Leondale United Sports Academy to host Real Diski Soccer Challenge
The Leondale United Sports Academy will host a soccer tournament - the Real Diski Soccer Challenge - at the Leondale sports grounds on the weekend of March 24 and March 25
Jonnes Ntshweni, who is the the team manager, said the tournament will begin at 9am and end at 4pm.
“The tournament will involve the u-11, u-13, u-15 and u-17 players,” said Ntshweni.
He said the joining fees will be as follows: u-11 and u-13 players will pay a joining fee of R400, while the u-15 and u-17 players will pay R550.
“The u-11 and u-13s will play for 20 minutes while the u-15 and u-17s will play for 25 minutes. These will be straight games with no half-time,” said Mtshweni.
He went on to say that there will be rolling substitutions during the match. “The point system will be used in the first round and the knockout system as from the quarter-finals.”
Mtshweni said the winners will walk away with a full kit jersey, gold medals and a trophy, while those who finish in second place will walk away with a silver medal, a smaller trophy and 10 sets of beeps.
“Teams must submit a list of 20 players in all divisions. Only those players listed, can participate in the tournament.”
There will be a meeting regarding the rules and these will be issued on the day of the tournament.
Teams from all over Gauteng are invited but teams from Vosloorus, Roodekop, Katlehong and Leondale and the surrounding areas will be given preference.
