New chapter begins for Vosloorus hardware store
August 29 marked the beginning of new things for Build It in Vosloorus as the shop was officially relaunched.
The shop is now under the new ownership of M&D Holdings.
Group CEO Siyabonga Maclean explained: “M&D Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a South African 100-per-cent black-owned investment firm with strategic focus on sectors ranging from engineering infrastructure, logistics, ICT and property development.
“In October 2016, we took the decision to buy an existing Build It store in Vosloorus from its previously white-owned operator. This was also seen as enhancing entrepreneurship and effective business management among the black community, whilst contributing to bridging the unemployment gap in the Vosloorus community,” said Maclean.
Group chairman Kagisho Dichabe added: “The focus of the relaunch of the Build It store under new ownership and management is to bring the best service to customers, supported by quality products and value for money.”
The store now boasts the following upgrades:
- It is more appealing to the eye.
- It is cleaner and more welcoming to customers.
- The product spectrum is now wider. For example, it offers paint-mixing technology and a greater selection of colours.
In addition to its friendly staff, the store now offers the following services:
- Customer queries are addressed immediately.
- There is a focus on customer complaints to ensure no recurrence of unwelcome service.
- The store is open seven days a week, including public holidays.
- The sales team has received upgraded training.
- Prices are more competitive.
- Same-day delivery service is offered.
- The store will provide opportunities to the local community for subcontracting.
- It will provide credit facilities to customers of Real People and Nedbank.
- Built It Vosloorus can conduct a full assessment of a client’s property to determine what and how much material is required.
- There are now various brands of most product offerings.
- A warranty is offered on a range of products.
Dichabe said M&D Holdings is proud to relaunch the store and looks forward to providing the best service to the community of Vosloorus.
