Krugersdorp house turned into sex and drug den
Eight sex workers have been taken into custody for questioning after a dilapidated house on Sivewright Street, Krugersdorp, was discovered to have been turned into a sex and drug den.
It is alleged a Nigerian national rented out the house to the sex workers, who paid between R50 and R100 a night. The house reportedly also used an illegal power connection, Krugersdorp News reported.
Krugersdorp police spokesperson Colonel Luke Enslin told The Citizen local authorities have issued a notice, as police were searching for the owner of the house. Enslin added investigations were under way.
The eight sex workers, who admitted to doing drugs, were taken into police custody for questioning after a clean-up operation last Thursday, added Enslin.
In a separate incident, sex workers in Krugersdorp revealed they were being used as “honey pots” by a Nigerian foreign national known as “McDonald” to lure potential clients before robbing them.
An 18-year-old sex worker who ran away from her home in Klerksdorp said she took the clients’ money and then disappeared into the brothel where the foreign national waited and then robbed the client while she escaped through a bathroom window.
