Local school searched
Police search for illicit substances at Primrose school.
Hoërskool Vryburger High was the focus of the Primrose police’s attention on August 23.
The police, joined by members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk and the community patrollers, visited the school to search for illicit substances.
“We were there to talk to the pupils and to promote a safer school environment in our area,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“We sometimes receive complaints about illegal substance abuse at the school, but nothing illicit was found during the raid.
“We found only some playing cards, which were confiscated as the pupils sometimes use them for illegal gambling.
“The pupils were warned not to carry playing cards, as they may be tempted to commit a crime when they have them.”
