A 35-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police, in Cactus Road, last Friday.
This arrest took place after the police, who were patrolling the area, saw the man standing in the road.
“As housebreaking is rife in Sector Two, the man was searched and asked to produce his identity document,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.
The man gave one of the officers his identity document and, while checking it, the officer realised that a photo had been pasted onto it.
The identity document did not belong to the suspect and he was, therefore, arrested for forgery.
“The police warn all opportunists, who think they cannot be found, that they will be caught and all criminals will be sent to jail,” said Maome.
