The Democratic Alliance has reminded Ekurhuleni residents that they can bring about the change they want only if they are registered voters.
All voting stations across the country will be open between 8am and 5pm on November 9 and 10, for people to register for the 2014 General Election.
The election in Gauteng promises to be a closely fought one and a single vote could be the one that determines which party governs this vital province after the election.
People who should register are those who have never registered before and those who have moved since the 2011 Local Government Election.
If, for example, a person has moved to Gauteng but is registered outside of the province, they will not be allowed to vote on the provincial ballot paper. This makes it imperative that they re-register.
People who would like to know where they are already registered. or where to go and register, should SMS their ID number to 43165, from where the DA will assist, at a cost of 50 cents per SMS.
