Officers from the Germiston SAPS arrested a man on October 29, for being in possession of a firearm.
Upon receiving the information, the officers went to Plantation Road, in the Germiston CBD, and found the man.
After searching him, they discovered a firearm in his possession.
He alleged he is working for a security company and that the owner issued him with the weapon.
The firearm was licensed and the owner was traced and a Section 102 (see if a person is fit to possess a firearm) investigation was opened against the owner, at the Germiston Police Station.
The suspect, aged 37, was arrested for possession of a firearm without a licence and detained at the Germiston Police Station.
