Primrose police recently arrested a male (33), for possession of suspected stolen goods, at the corner of Scorpia Street and Main Road, in Fishers’ Hill.
The police were patrolling the area when they noticed a man hiding against the wall.
When they asked him why he was hiding, he allegedly told them he was waiting for transport to Johannesburg.
They searched him and found R2 500 cash in his pockets, as well as goods in boxes near where he was standing.
When the police asked about the owner of the goods the man could not give a clear answer.
Later that day, a complainant came to the Primrose Police Station to lay a charge of business breaking, involving premises near to where the accused was found.
The value of the stolen items is R30 000 and the items the complainant mentioned matched those the police had recovered earlier.
“Management of the station thanks the members of the Primrose police involved in this operation for their success, especially since the suspect was arrested before the owner realised that there was a break-in at his shop,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
