Busy week for Primrose police

Primrose police determined to crack-down on crime.

In the first week of what is known as the “Month of Love”, February 3 to 9, the Primrose police made 44 arrests.

The suspects were arrested on a number of charges, including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence, possession of dagga, rape, possession of suspected stolen property, trespassing, theft, attempted murder, murder, selling liquor without a licence, importuning for the purpose of sexual immorality, aiding a prisoner to escape, illegal immigration and being drunk and disorderly in public.

A number of the suspects were detained at the Primrose Police Station.

Upon their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court, some were released on a warning, while others were made to pay an admission of guilt fine before being released.

The suspects arrested on the charge of being illegal immigrants were transferred to Lindela, in Krugersdorp, from where they will be deported to their respective countries.
