A couple was arrested by the Primrose police, last Tuesday, on charges of theft and malicious damage to property.
The arrest was made after a man came to the Primrose Police Station to open a case against the couple.
The man explained to officers that he had asked the couple to take care of his house while he and his wife were on holiday in India.
Upon their return, he found that most of his belongings were either broken or missing.
When he asked where his belongings were, the couple said they had lent the missing items to friends.
No explanation was given about the damages to the home, which totalled R15 496.
Officers arrested the couple and brought the pair to the Primrose Police Station to await their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
