The Primrose police arrested a 46-year-old man on Tuesday, February 25, in connection with a murder that took place in the Marathon informal settlement.
Officers began the murder investigation on February 8.
The victim’s girlfriend explained that they had been at a local tavern when her boyfriend was involved in an argument with the accused.
“Because of this altercation, the couple decided to leave the tavern and head home,”explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome .
“The suspect followed the couple and, when they were a safe distance from the tavern, he stabbed the victim to death.”
The man appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
