The Primrose police recently arrested two men, in connection with two separate incidents of theft.
The men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested in the Delport informal settlement and Makause informal settlement, respectively.
In the first incident officers responded to a call from a man claiming his 22-year-old friend had just stolen his cellphone.
Officers responded immediately and the man was arrested.
The second crime took place in the Makause informal settlement.
Officers received a report from a man claiming that he was asleep at home when he heard a noise in his garden.
When he went to went to investigate the noise he saw a man running away from his car.
When he went to see if anything had been taken he found that his car’s battery had been stolen.
Officers, using the victim’s description of the man, were able to track him down and arrest him.
“Once officers had arrested the man it was discovered that he was linked to several other housebreakings in the area,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
