The Primrose SAPS arrested a 32-year-old Makause informal settlement resident, after he had assaulted an officer.
The arrest was made last Wednesday, March 26, when officers attempted to serve a protection order against the accused.
“As soon as officers arrived at the man’s house he became violent, attacking anyone who got in his path, including an officer who attempted to subdue him,” said Sgt Style Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
Officers struggled with the accused and after several minutes were able to arrest him and load him into their patrol vehicle.
The man was transported to the Primrose Police Station, where he was held pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
