Primrose Sector Three hosts public meeting

Don't miss this informative meeting where you can learn all about the CPF and more.

Primrose Sector Three is hosting a public meeting on Saturday, July 26, to discuss ways to combat crime in the area.

All Primrose residents are invited to hear what community measures are already in place and how the effectiveness of the Community Policing Forums (CPFs) can be expanded.

Residents will also have the chance to meet the new station commander of the Primrose Police Station, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo.

There are various sub-forums that may be of interest to different segments of the population, like various geographical sectors, the youth desk, victim empowerment counselling, Business Against Crime, patrollers, street leaders, domestic and elderly awareness, drug prevention and a forum to address schools and churches.

There are also plans to start a new women’s forum.

There are already many dedicated people who volunteer in various groups to work in the interest of better awareness, and also to report suspicious activities.

The police rely on the public for information and the CPF works to improve the relationship between the SAPS and the community – the members also deal with many written compliments and some complaints.

The CPF is concerned with all aspects of crime that can be prevented by quick community involvement and help to act as a link between the community and the police.

Khuzwayo has joined the Primrose police from the Elsburg SAPS, where he was stationed since 2005.

This will be the Primrose community’s first chance to meet him – so make sure you come to the meeting.

You will also learn how the CPF can work with you to improve the area and how, together, crime can be minimised in the area by working with the SAPS and the Gauteng Department of Community Safety.

The meeting will take place at 2pm, at Leeuwenhof Akademie, on the corner of Geldenhuis and Cydonia roads, Wychwood.
