Man hit in face with beer bottle, thrashed with sjambok

Man arrested for beer bottle attack.

A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police, last Tuesday, on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The attack took place in the Makause informal settlement.

The complainant alleged that he was sitting in his shack talking to his brother when his landlord’s son entered the shack and told them that the language they were using was irritating him, as he did not understand it.

The brothers kept quiet and did not respond and the landlord’s son then picked up a beer bottle and struck the complainant in the face with it.

He also hit the victim and his brother with a sjambok and cane.

The Primrose police tracked down the alleged attacker and arrested him.

He is being detained at the Primrose Police Station and is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
