Three nabbed for assault

Primrose police arrested three suspects for assault GBH.

Primrose police recently arrested three suspects in connection with separate cases of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, in Rietfontein Road and in Zinnia Road, Primrose.

The first incident happened in the Makause informal settlement, where the victim alleged that the accused followed her to her shack and asked for R20.

When she said she did not have the money, the woman allegedly started swearing at her, broke a beer bottle and stabbed her.

The second incident happened in Zinnia Road, where the victim alleged that he went to buy beer from the bottle store and walked home, with the intention of enjoying it.

On the way he met two men; one grabbed the beer bottle opened it and drank it without the victim’s consent.

The victim proceeded home, but the suspects followed him and started swearing at him.

The one suspect allegedly produced a sharp object and stabbed the victim.

All the suspects were traced, arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.

“As police, we condemn such barbaric actions and we will keep on tracing all suspects and bringing them to book,” said the communication officer for the Primrose SAPS, Sgt Styles Maome.

The suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and both cases were postponed for trial.
