Two alleged tool thieves were nabbed by the Elsburg SAPS, in Buhle Park, last Monday.
The arrests came after the police received a complaint from a member of the public.
When they arrived community members identified the two men, alleging that they had stolen tools.
When the suspects were questioned they said the tools had been given to them by their father.
The police officer contacted the men’s father concerning the matter, but he denied giving any property to any of his children.
The two men, aged 24 and 21, were arrested and detained at the Elsburg Police Station pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court on July 23.
They are facing a charge of being in possession of suspected stolen property.
