Germiston SPCA needs help

Make life easier for the animals at the Germiston SPCA.

The Germiston SPCA is in need of a number of things to help it to care for the animals in its kennels.

The society’s wish list is:

  • Hard drive and laptop computer.
  • Shade cloth (160m wide) to protect the animals from the heat and prevent dehydration during summer.
  • Perspex sheeting (160m), to protect the animals from wind and water when the kennels are being cleaned. It will also create a rain barrier.
  • Tiles or screed to line the puppy kennels, to prevent disease and make for easier cleaning.
  • Farmyard: grass, bales of hay, as well as a lawnmower and weed-eater.
  • Building materials: bricks, sand, concrete – to build new isolation kennels and drop-off kennels.
  • Roof repair kits: to repair the leaking roofs.
  • GPS – for the driver to respond to emergencies faster, save petrol on getting lost, and save hours of time.
  • An extra vehicle to collect strays and respond to emergencies (ideally a bakkie).
  • Security cameras to protect the animals.
  • Bricks, sand, grout, paint, tiles, etc., for building projects.
  • Kennels, leads, harnesses and blankets.
