Woman arrested for shoplifting

Woman attempts to sneak past checkout by looking at community board.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 21-year-old woman for shoplifting.

The arrest was made at a store in Rietfontein Road, when the security guard apprehended the woman trying to sneak past the pay-point without paying.

“The security guard told police she had been watching the woman, who was carrying a large bag, for some time,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“She noticed the woman hanging around the community board before attempting to slip past the tills.”

The security guard called the accused to her and asked to search the bag she was carrying and found cutex remover, foot scrub, power drink, eucalyptis oil and a nail brush.

“The accused was asked for her receipt and, when she failed to explain where it was, the police were called.”

The woman was taken to the Primrose Police Station, where she was formally charged.
