It’s that time of the year again; matric students around the country are preparing to write their final exams.
But, before that, there is the excitement and stress of the matric farewell.
However, Christine Terblanche and Brandon Fourie, who attend Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen, in Boksburg, were treated to an evening unlike any other matriculants.
The tale begins when Fourie, being the brave young man he is, convinced his father to email Darren “Wackhead” Simpson with a very special request.
The breakfast express team responded to the request and, instead of the normal morning programming, the team varied from the normal pranks and allowed Fourie to serenade Terblanche with “Little things”, by international act One Direction.
Terblanche agreed to accompany Fourie to their farewell, but the story doesn’t end there.
People and companies started to open their hearts to the young couple on this milestone occasion.
- Natalie and Jody Caeiro, of Bridal Image, sponsored Terblanche with a matric farewell dress, as well as jewellery, and Fourie with a suit.
- Michelle Sierra, of Nail Candi, did the couple’s hair and Terblanche’s nails for the event.
- Make-up artist Shalane Rensburg donated her time and expertise to make Terblanche look and feel beautiful.
- Natasha Alexander, of the Flower Station, finished off the couple’s outfits by providing the buttonhole flower and corsage.
- Germiston’s Henley Air CEO, André Coetzee, gave the couple an unforgettable helicopter ride.
And, I suppose you also want to know if they are a couple?
Unfortunately, no, but they are good friends and enjoyed a once-in-a-life-time evening together.
