Man killed on N3 after truck collision

A man in his 30s was killed on Monday morning, December 22 after he was hit by a truck and light motor vehicle on the N3 before the R554 turn-off in Germinston.

The man was found lying in the slow lane of the highway. Traffic had already started to back up due to the incident.

ER24 Spokesperson, Russel Meiring said in a statement, “On assessment, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained fatal injuries to his head and chest. He was later declared dead on scene.”

It is believed the man was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by the truck followed by the light motor vehicle.

The drivers from both vehicles did not sustain any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
