The organisation said: “Carrying extra weight leads to serious health consequences such as cardiovascular disease (mainly heart disease and stroke), type 2 diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders and some cancers.
“These conditions cause premature death and substantial disability.”
It can be scary to face the reality that you or your loved ones may be overweight or obese, but by coming to terms with this you can start making steps to lead a leaner and healthier lifestyle, without cutting out all of the good food that you love.
