On Tuesday, December 30, committee members of the Dinalview Community Policing Forum (CPF) visited the Germiston SPCA.
The committee members handed over R 2000 to the SPCA to assist in caring for animals.

During the visit the CPF members were shown the Germiston SPCA’s weekend drop off boxes.

These boxes allow people to leave their animals and ensure their safe keeping, till the SPCA’s offices open.
Jean Ingram, acting chair of the Dinalview CPF, explained how the group raised the funds they donated to the SPCA and why they decided to support the SPCA.
“During 2014, the Dinalview CPF held boerewors roll sales on the first Saturday of each month to raise funds for petrol for our patrollers.
“As all charity organisations know, raising funds is a difficult task.
“Due to the tremendous response we have received, we managed to raise enough money to keep our patrollers on the road and have a little bit extra money on hand.
“Our mission is to keep the community safe by doing visible patrols in the area and report any suspicious activity to the local police.
“We feel that our four legged family members also play an integral role in keeping our families safe.
“This is why we chose the Germiston SPCA to benefit from our fundraising initiative.”
The Dinalview CPF thanked the community for their support during the 2014, and look forward to the continued support in 2015.
