Les Harris (90), born in the Eastern Cape in November 1924, and Yvonne Harris (84),born in 1930 in Germiston, celebrated their 66 wedding anniversary on January 8.
Les moved to Germiston in 1939 and he met Yvonne at the roller skating rink in Malvern in 1947, when she fell and Les helped her up.
They married on January 8 1949.
The pair have lived in Germiston all their lives and they currently reside in Elspark.
They had two sons, Eddie and Roderick, and have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Their key to a successful marriage and loving relationship is respect and working together as a team.
