Felicia Nbele and her husband, Sandile Mdlalose, recently experienced a great shock when they arrived home from work and discovered they had been robbed.
“Our home had been broken into and R28 000 worth of goods stolen,” said an upset Nbele.
She described how they arrived at their Albemarle Estates home in Sparrow Hawk Street, at about 4.40pm, only to discover that they couldn’t open their front door.
“When we finally managed to get inside we were shocked to find that our house had been ransacked.
“They took jewellery, laptops, the TV and various other appliances,” she said.
Nbele believes that another house in the complex was also burgled on the same day.
The matter was reported to the Germiston SAPS.
“I am not sure why we pay for security when thieves can just walk in and out with our belongings,” Nbele said.
She is warning people in the area to be extra alert, and to take precautions at their homes, to avoid the same thing happening to them.
