Thank you to all who assist animals, says SPCA

SPCA values the community’s support.

The Germiston SPCA is grateful to the community for all their generosity throughout the year.

“We owe the community so much for their support, which enables us to save thousands of animals from harm and to prevent cruelty,” said Michelle Falgate, the chairman of the society.

“We are extremely short-staffed, and don’t always get to send individual ‘thank you’ notes, and for this we apologise.

“If you have donated to the SPCA and have not received a note of thanks, please do not feel that your donation has gone unnoticed or is not appreciated.

“We are truly, truly grateful for every cent or item that has been given to us so generously.”

Falgate added that the society also extends a big thanks to the kind-hearted individuals who donated so generously to the Christmas Cheer Fund.

“Every cent counts to us, and December was particularly difficult for us, with a flood of abandoned and neglected animals,” she said.

“Times are tough.

“So to every person who gave their hard-earned money to our plight, we are truly grateful.”

The names of every person who donated and who helped to raise R31 175 were published, but the SPCA says a special thank you to CH Kruger, G Miller, L Verne, the family of N Bartram, Wong Min, KB O’Brian, Dr Kruger’s surgery, VD Barcellar and S Bisschoff for their contributions.
